    Mrs. Sandy Phillips

Bienvenido - Welcome to Spanish and ESL!
I am Sandra Phillips, formerly Sandra Anderson (daughter of missionary and former Franklin First Baptist Church pastor Justice Anderson) and communication is at the top of my goals. I graduated from Baylor University in 1974 with degrees in both Elementary and Secondary Ed. (grades 1-12) in Spanish and English. Texas instituted the bilingual program in 1974 and Grand Prairie ISD required that I take courses in the Berlitz School of Languages to become certified in both Bilingual and English as a Second Language. I taught bilingual 1st and 2nd grades there four years. I moved to Alpine, Texas and taught English as a Second Language in High School. After having my first son I took a leave of absence, then had another daughter and son. I substituted at all levels then taught full-time in Oklahoma in Secondary Spanish, Creative Writing. and English. In Franklin I have taught Elementary Spanish, ESL and Fine Arts, Middle School and High School Spanish, and have coordinated the ESL program. This year I will resume 7th grade classes for High School credit Spanish, 8th grade Conversational Spanish, and ESL classes at Middle School levels. I also am translator-transcriber for FISD. For questions about Spanish documents and handbooks call me at 979-828-5434. I love students and look forward to teaching this year!
ESL-I believe in Lady Liberty's message
I believe in a non-threatening, open-minded class atmosphere that welcomes all languages, races and cultures, and offers a light to the mind and heart!!
