Exciting news! Franklin ISD will soon have a new auditorium for school and community performances. Of course, we will continue to study the basics of theater in class, and many performances do not require a stage at all.
Theater is an experimental process. We will learn through playing games, solving problems, engaging in processes to learn skills and ideas that will transfer to any career choice. It is not lecture or facts or strict reading of a text. It will be a voyage of discovery. Most of the time there will not be right or wrong answers, but there will be training—drill and repetition just like in band, cheerleading, or football. We will learn to critique not to criticize. Talent is not an issue; concentration and involvement are. Every student can discover his or her role in theater.
